25 Steps: Get to 25. It's Impossible.
25 Steps is a memory game inside a room made of black lines. Colored tiles light up across the walls, the ceiling and the floor, each one with its own musical note. Watch the sequence, then tap it back in the same order. Every round adds one more step. Simple to learn, very hard to master: almost nobody makes it to 25.
Watch. Remember. Tap.
Tiles light up one after another, each with its own note, so the sequence becomes a little melody. Tap them back in order before time runs out: you only get a few seconds for each tap. The sequence never changes during a game, it just keeps growing.
Tilt to See Every Wall
The room reacts to how you hold your iPhone. Tilt it and the perspective shifts, so you can look into the side walls and reach the tiles you can't see head-on. Put your phone down and the view recenters by itself.
It Only Gets Harder
Every 5 steps a new row opens and the back wall moves further away. Wild bursts of color try to make you forget what you saw. At 15 the whole room turns black. And the deeper the room gets, the shorter the trail each tile leaves behind.
Hints, If You Dare
Stuck? Shake your iPhone twice during your turn and the steps you have left light up for five seconds before fading away. Every game comes with 1 free hint, and you can unlock more hints per game with a one-time purchase.
Reach 25. If You Can.
Make it to the end and the room crashes into you. Your time goes to one of two Game Center leaderboards: one for players who never used a hint, and one for those who did. 25 Steps is free, with optional extra hints and small tips to support an independent developer.
Support
Need help? Write to contact@kubographics.com and I'll get back to you.
- How do I use a hint? Shake your iPhone twice during your turn. The steps you have left light up and fade out in 5 seconds.
- I bought hints but don't see them. Tap the heart button next to Play, then "Restore purchases".
- My time isn't on the leaderboard. Make sure you're signed in to Game Center. Screen-recorded runs don't count.
- The flashing is too strong. Turn on Reduce Motion or Dim Flashing Lights in iOS Settings > Accessibility for a calmer version.
Photosensitivity warning: this game contains flashing lights and fast color patterns, especially at 5, 10 and 15 steps and at the end. If you have photosensitive epilepsy or have ever had a seizure, please don't play.
I wanted to make a game that looks calm and minimal, but quietly pushes your memory to the limit. The room, the notes and the tilt all started as experiments, and together they turned into something I keep playing myself. I still haven't reached 25 without a hint.
